volleyball and courageous...and In-n-Out
5 november 2012
Well Family this week was another week at the grind really cool
with the Holiday and stuff just crazy. So last Monday was way fun after
emailing and doing all the hectic stuff we played some volleyball this was fun
because we have 2 samoans and another one from hawaii who love volleyball and
way good then some members from the samoan ward came and played so it was super
fun. They told me I actually am pretty good. Jumping and hitting for like 2
hours and some though I was tired my legs and my arm but it was way fun. Then
at our trunk o treat we had a family I don't know if I told you but they want
us to come by at least everyday just for a prayer or a thought or something as
2 boys have fallen away and the mom thinks its her fault but we have been doing
that and its really cool cause as they let us come by we have really been able
to build a good relationship with them cause another thing was its hard for
them to switch missionaries all the time. So That has been really awesome. We
had some sweet lessons with Alyssa this week and we had her committed to
baptism for November 9th! Then we went over to go over it with her and her
grandpa and he told us she can't get baptized yet until she turns 13. So that
was a slight bit of a bummer but so goes the mission and seems like a lot of
that for me... hahah just kidding... But we did have a lot of blessings this
week too. So I mentioned the Holiday or the "holiday" of halloween.
So they advised us again to not go out after 6 so we had a big mission party!
SO we all went to the mission office and had some time to get to know the other
missionaries then we were able to watch a movie that Sister Neider picked out
and showed us. It was called Courageous! It was a movie about some cops
basically making the resolution to become better fathers and people! So it was
cool It was the same director as Facing the Giants so it was a cool movie with
some good principles just missing some pieces hahah But that was really neat to
get me excited about the future a bit but also to see the relationships and
friendships I've built with all the missionaries. That was all after we had our
Zone Leader Council too and that was cool to see the trust they put into us. I
love President and Sister Neider and I know they ahve been called to be my
Mission President and Mission Mom! We then had a really cool opportunity on
Saturday we had a Stake Day of Service! We went down to a rougher part of North
Las Vegas and we cleared out some vacant fields and that was a really cool
although there was soo much to do and still a ton left. We got to serve with
our ward and to see the trust we have already built and we also got to see
Laurel Canyon and to see how much I did have somewhat of an impact on them in
just 2 transfers so that was really neat. Then at the end there wasn't too many
people so we were working and there were some big tree like weed things and so
our member said if we can get these down quick I'll take you all our to
In-N-out and so.. we did haha such an awesome family who really does trust us.
so that has been the biggest blessing this week is all sorts of members showing
to us and telling us that they have trust in us. We had a member with us as we
contacted and he told us that we contact well and that was great and we just
had multiple experiences this week to bear testimony that I am doing alright as
a missionary. Some things I learned this week was the effect that we have in no
matter what we do as long as we give ourselves and give our heart to it. Also
from the movie the same way was the most valuable thing we can give is
ourselves. Our time, our words, just us is the best thing for relationships
family friends anything. I love you all so much! Thanks for all you do.
One Love,
Elder
